FDSOA Offers New ‘Sets and Reps’ Preconference Program

FDSOA

A new one-day preconference program has been added to the Fire Department Safety Officers Association (FDSOA) 2020 Annual Health and Safety Conference. The course, entitled “Sets & Reps” for Incident Safety Officers, is an opportunity for participants to put their ISO and The 5 Reads training into practice through different scenarios.

Lance Vinson is an 18-year veteran of the fire service and has been an instructor at the Amarillo Fire Academy for the past 14 years. Vinson explains the class as a real-world application of their knowledge and theory. It shows them how to take their classroom knowledge and apply it.

Because the course focuses on individuals using their ISO or The 5 Reads training, it is recommended that participants have that experience before signing up for this course. “Sets & Reps” will be held on Tuesday, January 14, the day after the pre-conference The 5 Reads course. “Sets & Reps” is a great complement to Monday’s The 5 Reads course to see practical application of knowledge just learned or as a way to practice those skills learned in earlier ISO training. All preconference and conference classes will be held at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort, Scottsdale, Arizona.
