Sacramento (CA) Firefighter Dies of ‘Occupational Cancer’

Sacramento Fire Department announced its first line of duty death in nearly 20 years for firefighter Tamara Thacher who died of occupational cancer, reports The Sacramento Bee.

She was 31-year veteran of the department.

She also served as a training instructor, emergency medical technician and as a “role model for aspiring female firefighters,” the department said.
