San Antonio (TX) Firefighters Have New Contract

San Antonio and the firefighters’ union have reached a new agreement after six years, reports San Antonio Express-News.

The new pact calls for a total of 17 percent in pay increases over the next five years, starting with a 5 percent lump sum payment this year to be paid within 30 days.

The firefighters’ previous contract expired in 2014, but many of its terms had remained in place under a 10-year “evergreen” clause including the firefighters’ health care plan.
