A 46-year-old Nebraska firefighter has died after falling ill following an emergency response.
According to the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), on the morning of Sunday, February 23, 2020, after returning home from a grass fire, Indianola (NE) Firefighter/EMT Donald “Donny” Lepper collapsed. He was immediately taken to the Community Hospital of McCook, where he was pronounced deceased.
Firefighter Lepper had 23 years of service. This is the 13th firefighter fatality reported to the USFA thus far in 2020.
