Steve Weissman

Steve Weissman retired as a Deputy Fire Chief with the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department. He is a 46-year veteran of the fire service starting his career with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and retiring at the rank of Captain. He was one of the departments first shift safety officers and a member of Virginia Task Force-1 International Search and Rescue Team. Steve is an adjunct instructor for the Virginia Department of Fire Programs as well as a past instructor for the National Fire Academy. He has developed course curriculum in firefighter health and safety, vehicle collision prevention as well as in specialized training for significant injury and line of duty death investigations. In 2016 Deputy Chief Weissman was diagnosed with occupational cancer. Since then, he joined the efforts of the Firefighter Cancer Support Network in their mission “to help fire and EMS members and their families cope with cancer, and to provide awareness and prevention training”. Steve currently serves as the Virginia State Director for Firefighter Cancer Support Network.
Ryan McGill

Ryan McGill

Ryan is currently a Master Technician with 19 years of service with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. In addition to his duties with FCFRD, Ryan serves as the 5th battalion director for IAFF local 2068 and is the chairman of the firefighter cancer reduction committee. Ryan currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Virginia firefighters for Lifelong Health and is a research liaison for the Firefighter Cancer Cohort Study. Ryan also received the 2022 Governor’s Excellence in Virginia Fire Service award for his contributions in protecting firefighters across the state of Virginia.
Jamie Little

Jamie Little

Jamie has spent the last 14years in the fire service with a combination of both Career and Volunteer service. During that time Jamie also served in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer. He currently is the Director of Market Development for an international equipment manufacturer. Jamie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Executive Leadership. During his time as a firefighter with Fairfax County, he was appointed to the NFPA Respiratory Protection Equipment Committee. Since leaving the department he has expanded his participation on NFPA committees and now serves on the Technical Committee for Emergency Responders Occupational Health. Jamie specializes in cancer prevention techniques such as preliminary exposure reduction and advanced PPE cleaning. He also is a member of the NFPA Research Foundation’s Technical Panel for Gear Cleaning Validation (How Clean is Clean).
