Rick Haase

Rick Haase is the fire chief of the Staunton (IL) Fire Protection District and owner/operator of Haase Consulting and Training, which specializes in emergency response and safety consulting and training for industry/businesses and municipalities. He is also a hazmat duty officer for the MABAS 35 Haz Mat Team, and fulfills several other functions in area mutual aid teams. Previously, he served as fire chief at the WRB Refining – Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery in Roxana, Illinois. He has served as both the chairman and vice-chairman of the Industrial Fire and Safety Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and is currently an active member of the section. He has also served as a field staff instructor for the Illinois Fire Service Institute for more than 25 years.

This webcast will focus on key incident management operations during the first 45 minutes of an industrial emergency incident. It will review initial tactics and strategies, communications, rapid decision making, size-up, accountability, and other critical topics essential to effective incident management during the first 45 minutes of an incident. It will also discuss the importance of pre-incident planning as part of successful industrial incident management. This session will be geared toward initial arriving officers.
