This quick drill discusses the capabilities of your tower ladder. Depending on specification, many tower ladders can require extended distances to place the bucket on the ground off of the side or rear. This drill will discuss some options to reduce this distance and encourage you to learn your apparatus‘ specifications and capabilities before the fire.

NICHOLAS MARTIN is a battalion chief with the Columbia (SC) Fire Department and a 20-plus-year veteran of the fire service. He previously served as a lieutenant with the District of Columbia Fire Department. He is a vice president of Traditions Training, LLC.
