Six Friendship Fire Company firefighters escaped serious injury after their fire apparatus rolled over while responding to a motor vehicle accident Saturday evening in Hellam Township, Pennsylvania.
The fire trucks reportedly left the road for an unknown reason, rolling onto its passenger side, and then became lodged in the mud, according to York Daily Record (http://bit.ly/O8Fqvc).
The truck sheared a nearby utility pole as it crashed. A fire official attributed the lack of life-threatening injuries to the fact that crew members were wearing seat-belts.
The fire engine sustained heavy damage, but it is unknown at this time if it is a total loss. The crash in under investigation.
