Four VA Firefighters Injured When Fire Apparatus Overturns

Four firefighters were injured–two seriously–when their fire apparatus overturned yesterday in Bedford, Virginia.

The firefighters were responding to a brush fire when the accident occurred, according to a WDBJ report (http://bit.ly/TDK9nO). It was only blocks away from the annual Bedford Christmas Parade.

At 11:52 a.m., Bedford Fire Department’s Engine 1 was involved in a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident while responding to a reported brush fire. The accident is under investigation.

An update from the department said all the firefighters have since been released from the hospital (http://bit.ly/SBQpwv).
