Local Firefighters Honor Missouri Boy Who Died in a Fire

The funeral of a 3-year-old Louisiana (MO) boy who perished in a house fire last week was held today in Centralia, with local firefighters honoring the little boy.

Riley Jeffrey Rieser Miller, died early Thursday Oct. 31, at his family home in Louisiana (MO). He was home with his mother and father at the time the fire broke out.

Firefighters from the City of Centralia, Centralia Fire Protection, Woodlawn, Sandoval and other fire, police and ambulance services went to the funeral home after Riley’s grandmother noted his grandfather was a firefighter and recently lost his battle with cancer, she also noted how much the little boy liked fire trucks and asked if firefighters could set up a truck at the funeral home.

They did more than just bring one truck. They honored Riley with three fire trucks, one of which was a snorkel truck that hoisted a giant American flag above the street in front of the funeral home. They all then joined in the funeral procession from Irvin Funeral Home to Little Grove Cemetery near Walnut Hill
