Pierce Places Pink Pumper into Service with Prince George’s County (MD) Fire/EMS Department

“The community has adopted our engine ‘Courage’ as a symbol of not just fire suppression but of cancer awareness.  It is amazing to see the many members of the community waving at Courage as it drives by,” said Prince George’s County Fire Chief Marc S. Bashoor.  “If we motivate just one person to have a test and early detection saves their life, then we have done our job.”

The 1:50 scale model will be precisely engineered to the exact specifications of the real truck. The replica will be manufactured in a variety of materials including photo-etch stainless steel, high-definition resin, wire, rubber, and other composites and metals. Engine 805’s graphic package will also be accurately replicated to an acute level of detail.

“It’s an honor to be involved in a project that reaches even beyond the significance of department pride,” says Nicholas Neumann, President of Fire Replicas. “To partner with great organizations in support of a worthy cause aligns with our mission at Fire Replicas, and we are grateful for the opportunity.”

Each museum piece of this Pierce Velocity pumper replica will include a high quality, custom display case to preserve the model.  An etched stainless steel identification plate will feature the department and truck name, as well as the PGFD seal.

Initial production of the “Courage” replica is planned for 250 pieces and available for purchase at Availability is currently scheduled for October of 2015.  For questions regarding this release, please call 1.800.481.2450 or email Fire Replicas at
