Scottsburg Fire Department Uses iPad Technology to Improve Work Flow

The Scottsburg Fire Department (IN) has purchased iPads to be placed in their apparatus for on-scene use for Preplans, hydrant locations, hybrid vehicle reference, ERG, SOG’s and Incident Command applications.

The 35-member combination department uses the technology in the field for building inspections, preplanning, truck and equipment checks, and run reporting.

The iPad has become useful with the training division as the officers use for presentations, record keeping and documentation. The Scottsburg Fire Department has now became almost completely paperless with the use of the iPad and its technology.

The department has found that using only the iPad decreases the amount of paperwork needed inside the apparatus, reporting is much easier and convenient, records and information is much more accessible.
