Cardiac Arrest Claims Mayer (MN) Fire Captain
To date, 89 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2017.

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Captain Jeffrey A. Vollmer, 40, of the Mayer Fire and Rescue Department on December 19, 2017.

Captain Jeffrey A. Vollmer passed away at home from an apparent cardiac arrest several hours after participating in non-classroom training of a nonroutine strenuous nature at a local community center.

Fatality status is provisional and may change as USFA contacts State Fire Marshals to verify fatality incident information.
