The reason “leadership” is such a buzzword is because having great leadership in our organizations is at a premium. A 2023 study conducted by the Center for Analytics and Behavioral Research found a drastic drop in high-quality leaders. The data showed a staggering 17% drop from year over year to only 40% of people thinking they worked with great leadership. The study sampled 14,000 different leaders from 50 different countries. The question is, if there is so much emphasis on leadership these days, why are we trending downward? The answer is simple: We aren’t leading correctly because we’ve been taught incorrectly.
