Good vehicle extrication demands a unique collaboration between rescue and emergency medical personnel. Incorporating key victim assessment information in the extrication size-up will improve your strategic and tactical plans. Duckworth is a career captain and paramedic EMS coordinator for the Ridgefield (CT) Fire Department. He is a dedicated emergency responder, author, and award-winning educator with 30 years of experience working in career and volunteer fire departments, hospital healthcare systems, and public and private emergency medical services. He is on the editorial advisory board for JEMS and on the advisory committee for EMS Today and FDIC. He is the founder and director of the New England Center for Rescue and Emergency Medicine and an emergency services advocate and educator at conferences around the world.
