Voices of IFD and Steve Pruitt Receive FDIC Service Awards

The 2011 FDIC Service awards go to Voices of IFD (Indianapolis Fire Department) and Steve Pruitt. The service awards recognize outstanding contributions by local Indianapolis-area personnel over an extended period of time.

The Voices of IFD is comprised of Firefighters Dei Johnson, Aleatha Henderson, Daryl Hayden, and Anthony Williamson. The group sang the National Anthem at the FDIC Opening Ceremonies for the first time in April 1997 and has been doing so ever since.

Steve Pruitt, a member of the Indianapolis Department of Public Works and long-time supporter of FDIC and IFD, applies his “can-do” attitude and apparent inexhaustible energy to fulfilling his FDIC responsibilities. These chores can include acquiring heavy equipment and barricading streets—many times with very short notice.
