National Fire Department Honor Guard Competition Coming to FDIC International

The National Fire Department Honor Guard Competition will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015, at FDIC International in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The National Fire Department Honor Guard Competition is brought to you by W. W. Grainger and will showcase the best fire department honor guard teams from around the country. The tasks are designed to test the units in details they are expected to perform as part of an Honor Guard unit.

The event is judged by instructors from the National Honor Guard Academy. New this year will be an individual competition event open to all conference attendees covering basic standing commands through advanced drill and ceremony maneuvers. There will be two heats for individual competition participants; one for professional/advanced (open to everyone) and one for those who do not perform honor Guard or drill maneuvers professionally.

The limited-edition challenge coin will again be available for purchase with all proceeds from the coin sales benefiting the Ray Downey Courage and Valor Foundation. Coins are $10 each while supplies last. The award ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m.
