  • Titusville (FL) Fire and Emergency Services designed its EMERGENCY ONE quint to provide advanced life support as well as fire protection to the city’s south area, according to Lieutenant/Public Information Officer Scott Gaenicke.


    • Cyclone II chassis, 208-inch wheelbase, and four-seat cab with storage for medical equipment;
    • DETROIT Series 60 500-hp diesel engine with ALLISON HD 4060 automatic transmission;
    • HALE QSM single-stage, 1,500-gpm pump with one 13/4-inch front bumper line, two 13/4-inch crosslays, and AKRON 95-gpm Class A foam system;
    • EMERGENCY ONE 500-gallon poly water tank;
    • 75-foot aerial ladder with 800-pound tip load and ELKHART Scorpion 1,000-gpm ladderpipe fed through waterway;
    • 17-foot outrigger spread;
    • four sleeves for spare SCBA cylinders;
    • HOLMATRO hydraulic rescue tools; and
    • light and power with A.M.P.S. eight-kw hydraulic generator and three HAVIS SHIELDS floodlights (two on cab, one on aerial ladder).

    Features/Equipment:

  • This is one of three AMERICAN LAFRANCE pumpers placed in service in the Atlantic City (NJ) Fire Department. Battalion Chief Vince Granese says the units were designed with short wheelbases for city use and medical compartments in the cabs for first responder calls.

    Features/Equipment:

  • The Elkhart (IN) Fire Department protects an urban/suburban area that includes industrial parks. According to Chief Jerry Schade, this KME pumper was designed with more storage space, forward-facing jump seats, and a topmount pump panel with walk-through for increased visibility.


    • Excel XMFD chassis, 212-inch wheelbase, and four-seat cab with six-inch raised roof and interior storage compartment;
    • DETROIT Series 60 500-hp diesel engine with ALLISON HD 4060PR automatic transmission;
    • WATEROUS CSUY single-stage, 1,500-gpm pump with 11/2-inch front bumper attack line, three speedlays (two 13/4-inch, one 21/2-inch), 21/2-inch rear preconnect, right-side four-inch discharge, and prepiped ELKHART Stinger 1,250-gpm monitor;
    • UPF 750-gallon water tank;
    • 163-inch flat back body with ROBINSON rollup compartment doors;
    • four sleeves for spare SCBA cylinders; and
    • light/power with SMART POWER six-kw PTO generator, two HOOSIER telecsoping floodlights, two WHELEN fixed scene lights on cab, and HANNAY electric cord reel.
