APPARATUS DELIVERIES
This rescue/pumper, built by PIERCE for the Chesterfield Township (MI) Fire Department, incorporates design features such as a 40-gallon in-line foam tank with a gravity-fed eductor preconnected to a speed lay to respond to incidents involving the heavy truck traffic that travels on the state highway running through the town, explains Sgt. Scott Messer.

- three I/Cinch speediays that can be loaded from inside;
- two-stage. 1,250-gpm WATEROUS pump w ith five-inch front intake:

- 600 feet of five-inch hose.
The department serves a growing population, which is now at 30.000, and responds to local and mutual-aid fire and medical emergencies: it also performs water rescue. Personnel are trained in aircraft rescue, since the community borders the Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

Ft. Myers (FT) Fire anti Rescue District’s fire/ambulance boat, built bv SEA ARK MARINE, may be the first advanced life support water ambulance in the continental United States, suggests Fire Chief John McCarthy. The 32-foot all-welded aluminum NxU has a deepvee hull and can travel at speeds up to 45 mph and, McCarthy peculates, may enable the district to respond to crises that it previously could not reach.

- port-side treatment table with storage area below equipped with an EKG monitor, defibrillator, and other ALS equipment in pilot house; and

- This pumper, built by LUVERNE FIRE APPARATUS for the Rural/Metro Fire Department, which operates 12 of IS fire stations serving the unincorporated areas of Tennessee’s Knox County and the town of Farragut. was acquired for its suitability for a variety of responses, explains Jerry Harnish, spokesman.

- tour-door cab with seating for five:
- 234-inch wheelbase;
- 1,000-gallon booster tank;
- 10-inch NEWTON dump valve with electric switch;
- single-stage. 1,250-gpm GODIVA pump with three-inch suction and 2-inch tank fill on rear in addition to standard side intakes;
- nine storage compartments; rear compartment has ROBINSON rollup door.
