The Scales Mound (IL) Fire Protection District designed this PIERCE heavy rescue truck with a stronger engine and better gross vehicle weight than its predecessor to carry more equipment, says Captain John Duerr. The department’s focus was to make organized storage for efficiency and future equipment purchases.

The Norton Shores (MI) Fire Department designed this ALEXIS rescue truck with added storage space and scene lighting which was lacking in their previous vehicle, says Chief Robert Gagnon. The department covers large stretches of U.S. Route 31 and miles of Lake Michigan’s dunes and beaches. The unit responds to fires; medical calls; motor vehicle accidents; and technical, water, and dive emergencies.
