APPARATUS DELIVERIES

The Wanamassa Fire Company, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey, designed this CRIMSON (DBA SPARTAN ERV) pumper to be the first-in unit for quick attack, explains Deputy Fire Marshal Dean Schoch. It is first out to all but motor vehicle accidents and vehicle fires and uses CAFS on all responses, including structures.

The Lake Ozark (MO) Fire Protection District has in service five apparatus replacing six older units. Chief Mark Amsinger explains that three engine/tankers built by PRECISION FIRE APPARATUS (above) replace two tankers and two engines and assume a dual role. They run on all structure fires and support two quints. Two SMEAL quints replaced a 50-foot quint and an engine that ran with a 75-foot quint. The quint concept is used because of the area’s many multistoried buildings. Quints are also more maneuverable on roads and parking lots with limited access.
