The Leduc County Fire Department, Nisku, Alberta, Canada, combined three types of pumpers into one design. Fleet/Equipment Maintenance Coordinator Gerald Haakenson says the department’s FORT GARRY FIRE TRUCKS pumper has a short wheelbase, custom chassis, a large water tank for rural firefighting, foam capability, and pump-and-roll capability with a midship pump. Besides fires, it can answer medical and motor vehicle accident calls.

The Bloomfield-Genoa City Fire Rescue, Pell Lake, Wisconsin, designed this MARION BODY WORKS pumper with extra storage space to replace an old pumper and two old squads. Chief Fredrick Schalow says the unit is first out for fire alarms, mutual aid, structure fires, technical rescues, and hazmats and is second out for motor vehicle accidents. It also has a large water tank because half of the jurisdiction is without hydrants.
