The Deltona Fire District has purchased a 1984 Emergency One 2,000-gallon tanker/pumper with a 1,250-gpm Hale pump on a custom Hurricane chassis. The truck is powered by a 671T-275 BHP Detroit Diesel with an MT 644 automatic transmission. The firefighting equipment includes two 1 3/4-inch preconnects and one 2 1/2-inch preconnect top mounted, swivelled and preconnected for deck gun use. It also has a 6-inch Jet Dump for water shuttle.

The Decatur, TN, Fire Department has in service a Grumman Wildcat pumper. Outfitted on a Ford F-800 chassis, the unit has a Ford 429-4V V8 gasoline engine and Ford five-speed manual transmission. The pump is a Waterous CMWB two-stage 1,000-gpm with 750-gallon water tank. The midship booster reel holds 200 feet of 1-inch hose. The rear has 1,500 feet of 2 1/2-inch hose and two 150-foot preconnects of 1 1/2-inch hose. The pump panel has an extra discharge connection with a 2 1/2-inch gated wye, and there are six tool compartments. The vehicle is equipped with a Federal PA300 electronic siren and a Force 4XL light bar by Public Safety Equipment. The engine augments another pumper and has improved the town's ISO rating.

The Seaford Fire Department in Seaford, NY, has placed in service a quadruple combination apparatus built on an American LaFrance Century chassis with body by Saulsbury. The quad features an American LaFrance two-stage 1,250-gpm pump and 600-gallon stainless steel water tank. It has a 228-inch wheelbase with a 14,600-pound front axle and 26,000-pound rear axle. The engine is a Detroit diesel 6V92TA with Allison HT-740 D automatic transmission. The unit has a 5-inch front suction connection, 4-inch right side discharge, four 2-inch Mattydale crosslays and a 3-inch discharge to the Akron gun. The vehicle carries 225 feet of ground ladders, a 12 kw Onan diesel generator, and features rescue style compartments, which are 60 inches high and 26 inches deep.

The Terryville, CT, Fire Department has recently purchased Foam Engine 1. In addition to replacing their 30-year-old pumper, the new truck will also help to serve the needs of a large, growing industrial park and the expansion of a limited access highway through the town. This new apparatus is a Duplex D-350 chassis with FMC body. It has a Detroit 8V71TA diesel engine and Allison HT 740 automatic transmission, a Hale two-stage 1,250-gpm pump with around-the-pump foam proportioner, 1,000-gallon water tank, and 40 gallons of foam divided in two tanks. The foam is AFFF-ATC. Hose consists of 1,300 feet of 3-Inch, 2C0 feet of 2 1/2-inch preconnected with Task Force Tip nozzle (blitz line), two 200-foot lines of preconnected 1 3/4-inch with TFT nozzles, and 300 feet of 3/4-inch on a midship mounted booster reel. A roof mounted Apollo model 3420 monitor has a TFT master stream nozzle and is fed by two 20-foot lengths of 3-inch hose folded in troughs. Other equipment carried includes two 2 1/2-gallon AFFF hand extinguishers, a 30-lb Metal-X extinguisher, a 20-lb Halon extinguisher, 10 gallons of Biosolve, 15 gallons of Jansolve, and two Federal NightFighters floodlights on telescoping poles.

Fireline Sales and Service, Inc. of Runnemede, NJ, recently sold and delivered a Grumman Firecat pumper to Bellmawr Fire and Rescue Co. No. 1 in Bellmawr, NJ. The body is mounted on a Spartan chassis equipped with a 6V92T engine and Allison FIT-740 automatic transmission. It has a 1,250-gpm Waterous pump and 750-gallon water tank. The body has highside compartments on both sides and an overhead ladder rack.

Moncure Volunteer Fire Department, Moncure, NC, recently took delivery of an EEI tanker manufactured by Emergency Equipment, Inc., Raleigh, NC. It is mounted on a Chevrolet C7D064 chassis, and water capacity is 2,500 gallons. Other features include Flale CBP booster pump, single hose reel, and jet dump system.

A Mack CF pumper with Grumman body is now being operated by the Whitehall, PA, Fire Department. This reflects the start of a transition at Mack Truck, Inc., as they are no longer assembling complete fire apparatus at their plant. The unit has a Maxidyne model 450 diesel with Mack heavy duty 686FC five-speed transmission and two-stage Waterous 1,500-gpm pump. The booster tank holds 750 gallons, and the wheelbase of the apparatus is 163 inches. There are eleven 2 1/2-inch discharges from the pump plus piping for a deck gun, as well as four 3-inch and three 6-inch intakes. Four Mattydale trays are set up to hold one 3/4-inch hose, and the rear bed holds 2,000 feet of 3-inch hose plus a supply of 2 1/2-inch hose. The vehicle also has a 12 kw generator and telescoping floodlights. The body has eight tool compartments.

A new rescue pumper has been delivered to the Maynard Fire Department in Marcy, NY. The unit is built by Saulsbury on a Duplex D-350 cab and chassis with 200-inch wheelbase, a Detroit 8V-92TA diesel, two-speed Jacobs engine brake and Allison FIT-740D automatic transmission. The pump is a Flale QSMF 1,500-gpm single-stage with 1,000-gallon stainless steel water tank. It has a 304L stainless steel body with 24-inch deep compartments. It also has a top mount pump panel. There are two trash lines on the front bumper, each with 100 feet of 1 3/4-inch hose, two Mattydale trays for 200 feet of 1 3/4-inch hose each, 250 feet of 2 1/2-inch hose and 300 feet of 1 3/4-inch preconnected hose off the rear. The pumper mounts a 1,000-gpm Elkhart wagon pipe flanked by two 500-watt telescopic quartz floodlights powered by a 1,200-watt Leece-Neville transformer.

The North Hampton Fire Department of Pike Township in Clark County, OH, recently took delivery of a Grumman Firecat pumper mounted on a Ford C-8000 chassis with six-man tilt cab. It has a wheelbase of 175 inches. Powering the pumper is a Cat 3208 diesel engine with Allison automatic transmission. It has a Waterous 1,000-gpm pump and carries 1,000 gallons of water. The side suction connection shown features an external Keystone valve. The body is equipped with west coast type mask/tool compartments shown below the hard suction hose.

Beecher, IL, Engine 406 is running a new FMC Omega pumper mounted on a Spartan CFC-3000 chassis. The wheelbase is 118 inches. The unit has a 1,500-gpm centrifugal FMC Ram pump with a 750-gallon water tank, and also features a top mount electronic touch control pump panel. It has a front suction connection with 1,000 feet of 4-inch hose. A 6 kw diesel generator and two 1,500-watt floodlights are carried. The cab is provided with a Federal Hi-Q siren, PA-2010 electronic siren, and two Federal Aerodyne light bands. Between the headlights are mounted a Code-3 warning light flanked by two 6-inch red flashers. All lettering on the vehicle is gold leaf.

Engine 26 in Lowell, IN, has an American LaFrance Commodor pumper with Ford Model C six-man tilt cab. The unit has an Allison automatic transmission and is powered by an 8.2 liter GMC diesel engine. It has a two-stage 1,000-gpm pump and a 750-gallon water tank. A three-section 35-foot ladder is carried on the vehicle.
