Atlanta Fire Apparatus Struck by Tractor-Trailer; Multiple Firefighters Injured

Several firefighters were injured when a tractor-trailer slammed into a fire apparatus while members were operating at a vehicle fire on Interstate 285 early Wednesday, according to reports.

FOX 5 reported that crews were responding to a car fire around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound I-285 lanes just past the Jonesboro Road exit when the rig was struck.

Three firefighters were injured and transported, but they are expected to recover, the report said. The tractor-trailer driver was injured but refused treatment.
