Florida School Bus Driver Crashes into Fire Truck

A Bradenton (FL) school bus driver was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after the school bus he was driving collided with a fire truck responding to a call, reports the News Press.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the bus, driven by James B. McKinney, 73, entered the path of the fire truck, which had its lights and sirens on, at a Bradenton intersection. Two people on the school bus were transported to Lakewood Ranch Hospital with minor injuries. There were 47 students on the bus.

None of the fire truck’s occupants were injured. FHP reports the fire truck was responding to a vehicle fire.
