Apparatus Deliveries
The Coldwater (MI) Fire Department designed its WOLVERINE rescue pumper to replace a reserve engine and a light rescue vehicle. Chief Richard Sherman says the pumper responds to medical, rescue, haz mat, and vehicle fires and is a second-alarm response unit. Because of department understaffing, it was designed for maximum efficiency. The department serves a growing population of 20,000 in a 72-square-mile district encompassing a city and two townships, including urban, industrial, and agricultural areas.
