Three Forks (MT) Fire Chief, Five Others Killed When Fire Truck, Pickup Collide

Three Forks (MT) Fire Chief Todd Rummel and five other people were killed when a fire engine collided with a pickup head on Thursday evening.

The Three Forks Herald (http://bit.ly/1lGY2jF) reported that Rummel, 44, was driving the fire truck back from Helena, where it had undergone repairs.

The crash resulted in an instantaneous explosion and left no survivors.

Rummel, who joined Three Forks Fire in 2006, was a 29-year veteran of the fire service and had been chief since May 6.
