Two VA Fire Vehicles Struck in Crash on I-85

According to a report from WTVR, Virginia state troopers are now investigating a motor vehicle accident (MVA) on Interstate 85 (I-85) involving two South Hill Fire Department (SHFD) in Mecklenburg County near the North Carolina border.

The accident occurred just before 6:35 a.m. Sunday when a Hyundai Sonata struck two SHFD vehicles that were responding to another MVA in I-85’s northbound lanes, according to officials from the Virginia State Police.

The driver of the Hyundai suffered minor injuries. No SHFD members were hurt.



The crash forced the closure of I-85 north for around two hours.
