USFA: Las Vegas On-Duty Death

To date, 35 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2018.

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Captain Thelonious “Theo” Adams, 54, of Las Vegas Fire & Rescue on May 1, 2018.

Captain Thelonious “Theo” Adams succumbed to injuries sustained as a passenger in a fire apparatus rollover in October of 2003. Adams was paralyzed from the neck down in the crash that occurred while the apparatus was responding to a false alarm call on Halloween night.

Fatality status is provisional and may change as USFA contacts State Fire Marshals to verify fatality incident information.
