Off-Duty Tulsa Firefighter Assists After Car Accident

An off-duty Tulsa (OK) firefighter came to the aid of a driver who suffered a medical emergency and crashed Friday morning.

Newson6.com reports that Captain Matt Tavaglione was driving while off duty off duty when he noticed the driver in front of him crashed hard into a yellow guard rail.

Tavaglione said when he reached the vehicle after the crash he could see that the patient was sweating profusely and had difficulty breathing. He dialed the closes fire station and, after flagging down a truck, used a hammer provided by that vehicle to break a window and access the patient. Firefighters arrived, removed the injured man, and began treatment and transport.
