Two Clinton firefighters assisted in the roadside delivery of a baby Monday night, according to a news report.
Fire Chief Archie Brummitt told the Knoxville News-Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1Fu7QEr) that Firefighters Josh Queener and James Blakeney “had never done anything like that before.”
Responders were called after police officers stopped a vehicle for speeding shortly after 7 p.m., the report said, and a vehicle occupant was found to be in active labor.
The report said firefighters flagged down an ambulance that was passing by, and the emergency medical technician on board assisted in the delivery in the back of the ambulance.
