Hi, boys and girls!
Welcome to Molly’s Kids Zone on Firelife.com!
My name is Molly, and I am a real fire dog. I love teaching fire safety to children.
One of the things I like about being a fire dog and mascot is being able to travel the United States sharing fire safety with boys and girls just like you!
It’s Almost Time!
One of my favorite things to do each year is to take out the first pitch at a Northwest Arkansas Naturals ballgame during First Responders Day at Arvest Ball Park in Springdale, Arkansas.
The NWA Naturals is a Minor League Ball Team to the Kansas City Royals, and this will be my second year to carry in the first pitch. I feel so honored!

It takes a few practice sessions before the big day, and Firefighter Dayna and I go out to a local ballfield and practice.
Here’s a video of one of my practices!
Living in Arkansas, it is really hot during the summer. The best part is, after one of the practices, Firefighter Dayna takes me for an ice cream cone as a special treat for doing such a good job!
Here is the video of me taking in the first pitch last year! It was so much fun!
SUPERPOWER DOGS MOVIE “PUPDATE”
One of the highlights of my life has been being involved with the upcoming IMAX movie, Superpower Dogs. Out of all the things that I have done in my life, this is one of the things I am most proud of!
I had so much fun during the filming of the film being a background actor and I am honored to have been an Ambassador since 2016.
Can’t wait to go to Los Angeles in March to walk the red carpet with all the canine stars of the movie, including my good friend, Surf Dog Ricochet.
Hopefully, the date of the movie premiere will soon be announced. I can’t wait for all my friends to see it!
FIRE SAFETY TIP
I love being a member of the PupScouts, and last week I wanted to work on earning my cooking badge.
PupScouts are very similar to the Girl Scout/Boy Scout organizations, but PupScouts is strictly for dogs and their parents.
Boden and me. We had such a great time making cheesy dog biscuits with the help of Firefighter Dayna! I was so excited to earn my PupScout cooking badge!
The PupScouts are all about having fun, earning badges, helping others, meeting new friends and bonding with our parents.
Thanks to my good helper, Boden, we made some cheesy dog biscuits with the help of our grown-up, Firefighter Dayna.
We thought it would be a great time to share some cooking safety tips!
For the grown-ups:
Based on 2010-2014 annual averages:
> Unattended cooking is the leading factor in home cooking fires.
> Two-thirds of home cooking fires started when food or other cooking materials caught fire.
> Clothing was the item first ignited in less than one percent of these fires, but these incidents accounted for 18 percent of the cooking fire deaths.
> Ranges accounted for the largest share (62 percent) of home cooking fire incidents.
> More than half (55 percent) of reported non-fatal home cooking fire injuries occurred when the victims tried to fight the fire themselves.
> Frying poses the greatest risk of fire.
> Thanksgiving is the peak day for home cooking fires.
