Ambulance and Fire Protection Provider Files for Bankruptcy

A company that provides ambulance and fire protection services in 21 states has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Rural/Metro Corp. made the move after reaching a deal with its lenders to cut its debt by about half, according to a report from The Associated Press (http://bit.ly/15KtZOR).

Private equity firm Warburg Pincus bought the Scottsdale, Arizona-based company in 2011 for about $438 million.
