Chicago firefighter responded early Monday to a large fire at a commercial building.
The fire occurred in a commercial occupancy on the 2900 Block of Irving Park Road. The structure appeared to have a large bowstring truss as well as a flat roof front portion.
Heavy smoke from the fire hung low over the scene, and fire broke through the roof of the building.

Two towers and a snorkel were set up early into the incident, and crews experienced some communications issues on scene. One company used a big hoseline at the mouth of an alley to protect a large frame dwelling near the fire building.
This fire was in for a few hours and companies were there until around lunch time.
