Delray Beach (FL) Firefighters Rescue One from House Fire

At 7:35 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2013, Delray Beach (FL) Fire-Rescue (DBFR) units responded to a structure fire in the 1100 block of Cactus Terrace in Delray Beach.

Upon arrival, crews were informed that there was a resident trapped inside the structure. After a brief search, one victim was removed from the structure in critical condition. That patient, an elderly male, was transported to a local hospital for treatment along with another elderly male who escaped from the structure.

The fire, which was reported to have originated in the kitchen, was extinguished by 7:47 PM. The fire is under investigation.

DBFR had approximately 16 personnel on scene from these units: Truck 5, Medic 5, Special Ops 5, Engine 3, Medic 3, Engine 4, EMS 1 and Battalion 1.
