Fire Strikes George Lucas’s Skywalker Ranch

An early morning fire caused $25,000 worth of damage to a shipment building at Skywalker Ranch, the workplace of film director and producer George Lucas of Star Wars fame, located in Marin County, California.

The Skywalker Ranch fire caused sprinkler systems throughout the storage unit of the 4,000-acre ranch to go off, which greatly helped firefighters, according to a report on examiner.com (http://exm.nr/14jzs26). A fire brigade located near the ranch was also said to have responded to the fire several minutes before firefighters from Marin County could arrive.

The building’s roof was severely damaged in the fire, but no injuries were reported.
