Reports say 19 people died Monday in a fire at a shopping mall in the Middle East country of Qatar. Thirteen of the victims were children, and two firefighters also died in the fire.
The Associated Press (http://fxn.ws/KYegiV) reported that crews in Qatar’s capital Doha had to hack through the roof of the massive Villaggio mall to reach the child care facility and access victims. The fire and equipment failures that hampered firefighting efforts have raised concerns over fire safety at megastructures across the region.
