Dryer Vent Wizard Raises Record Amount for Childrens Burn Foundation

Dryer Went Wizard

Dryer Vent Wizard recently announced that the company’s third annual fundraiser for the Children’s Burn Foundation (CBF) raised more than $14,000 to benefit the non-profit’s programs for children burned in fires.

During National Fire Prevention month in October, DVW’s corporate headquarters and franchisees participated in a variety of social media and online challenges to achieve record results.

“We nearly doubled the amount raised during the previous year’s fundraiser,” said Terry Reuer, DVW CEO. “In addition to helping children burned in fires, this month-long drive allows us to raise awareness about fire safety in communities throughout North America.”

Scott Thomas, DVW’s director of operations, presented the company’s donation to Carol Horvitz, CBF’s executive director.

“The funds raised through our partnership with Dryer Vent Wizard help to provide much needed educational, medical and psychological care for children who are burned in fires,” said Horvitz. “When you have the opportunity to meet and talk with these children, you truly understand how important it is to teach fire safety at an early age. Dryer Vent Wizard is doing that.”

DVW is an international franchise that specializes in dryer vent repair, replacement, alteration, cleaning and maintenance for residential and commercial clients.

It is estimated that poorly maintained or clogged dryer vents are the leading cause of appliance fires, resulting in more than 15,500 dryer fires every year.  These are only the reported cases.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, Mich., Dryer Vent Wizard International services more than 9,000 communities of all sizes throughout the U.S. and Canada and helps raise public awareness about the importance of dryer vent cleaning to prevent dryer fires and save energy.   For more information or to schedule an appointment, visitwww.DryerVentWizard.com or call 866-498-SAFE (7233) in the U.S. and 866-395-SAFE (7233) in Canada.
