Fire-Lite Alarms Releases 2013 Training Schedule

Fire-Lite Alarms by Honeywell (NYSE:HON) announces its schedule of fire alarm trainings to be held in more than 50 cities across the U.S. throughout 2013. The hands-on sessions comprise a free introductory products course and a more advanced software applications training. Plans to expand Fire-Lite Alarms’ library of online trainings are also in the works. All courses are accredited with the Electronic Security Association for Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits.

“Course attendance for the last year has hit an all-time high,” states Tom Rosa, Fire-Lite Alarms training supervisor. “I think it has to do with the growing demand in the market for a truly non-proprietary fire system, along with personal, classroom instruction with hands-on training that makes these courses so popular.”

Starting in January, the two-day Fire-Lite Systems course will include instruction on the latest fire alarm and emergency communications systems to be introduced in the New Year. Attendees of this basic, two-day course will earn 1.6 CEUs. The more advanced, one-day Fire-Lite Software Applications course, which qualifies participants for 0.7 CEUs, will be offered in cities throughout the U.S. as well.

Following numerous customer requests for shorter, more convenient training on specific topics not covered in the hands-on sessions, Fire-Lite Alarms recently rolled-out a series of online training modules, each worth 0.1 CEUs. By the end of 2012, Fire-Lite Alarms will have mailed out nearly 1,000 certificates of completion to online course takers.

“As the word got out about our online training, the rate of those course completions rose steadily,” says Rosa. “We’ve gotten some good feedback on these courses and some good topic suggestions so we’re definitely going to grow that online resource in the coming year.”

Fire-Lite Alarms’ 2013 training schedule, including course descriptions, dates and locations, is available at www.firelite.com. All Fire-Lite Alarms products are assembled in the USA. Contact a local regional manager to locate nearby distributors of Fire-Lite Alarms equipment.
