During the International Code Council’s (ICC) Public Action Hearings, several proposals were pushed forward regarding the protection of structural components of residential construction. These proposals including protecting lightweight and traditional structural elements.
Prior to the hearings, representatives from the National Association of Home Builders, the American Forest & Paper Association, and the International Association of Fire Fighters worked on a potential modification for the committee to consider. The modification was ruled out of order and these non-traditioanl partners in addition to the Structural Building Components Association and the American Iron and Steel Institute all pledge to address the issue and propose a modified revision for the ICC Final Action Hearings to be held in Dallas, Texas, the week of May 16, 2010.
