IAFC Issues Suggestions for September 11 Remembrance

The suggested protocol is in response to a significant number of requests of the IAFC from member departments who wish to mark the anniversary in some way.

Quincy, MA – A recent study by the Fire Protection Research Foundation of the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) has advanced an international effort to make certain that people can escape a burning building before being overcome by smoke. The work is part of a revolution in fire safety in which codes and standards are beginning to address how much smoke will incapacitate people, rather than how much will kill them.
