ICC Evaluation Service, LLC (ICC-ES), an industry leader in evaluating building products for code compliance, has expanded its expertise in fire resistance and flammability for evaluation reports. ICC-ES recently signed an agreement with Priest & Associates Consulting, LLC that will provide additional options to manufacturers who wish to have their products evaluated for specific fire ratings and requirements.
Michael Beaton, Senior Vice President of ICC-ES, says, “We are pleased to be working with Priest & Associates in this program. They offer broad-based expertise in fire resistance and flammability testing and analysis that will supplement our code analysis. The idea is to coordinate our efforts and use the expertise of both companies for the benefit of manufacturers seeking independent evaluation of code compliance.”
The principals at Priest and Associates have more than 45 years of experience in performing fire tests on building materials, products and assemblies. “Our staff has a long and successful history of working with ICC-ES to assist manufacturers of building materials in reaching their recognition and code acceptance goals,” says Deg Priest, President of Priest & Associates. “This agreement is a step forward in that process and will serve as a powerful aid to our clients in this regard.”
Priest & Associates will consult with ICC-ES to confirm the appropriate test plan and develop the data package, helping to reduce the time for ICC-ES technical review. They will also serve as the primary contact for applicants regarding technical matters prior to an evaluation report being issued. ICC-ES will maintain the evaluation reports at www.icc-es.org. For more information, contact ICC-ES at 1-800-423-6587, ext. 3877, or Priest & Associates Consulting at 1-877-505-7743.
