KATHY GODBEY, AMY LITTRELL, and ANN YOUNG are the winners of the National Fire Protection

KATHY GODBEY, AMY LITTRELL, and ANN YOUNG are the winners of the National Fire Protection Association`s 1998 Teacher of the Year Award. The trio teaches second and third grades at the Magnet for Integrated Arts through Multiple Intelligences (MIAMI) at Russell Elementary School in Lexington, Kentucky. The teachers helped students bring their Learn Not to BurnT training to life by creating and performing an original fire safety opera, “Danger on Secure Court.” One of the team will attend the Oklahoma State University`s Public Fire Safety Education Conference in August, accompanied by Lieutenant Brenda VanHooser of the Lexington Division of Fire & Emergency Services. The four finalists in the contest were CHERYL ADAM, Waukon, Iowa; JANICE FARRELL, Sydney, Nova Scotia; KATHY HILGART, Round Lake, Illinois; and DIANE SILINSKI, Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania.
