KY Fire Marshal Looking for Arsonists

Kentucky’s State Fire Marshal Bill Swope is asking the public to help find those responsible for an outbreak of arson fires across the state, according to a report from WTVQ ABC 36 in Lexington.

The report states that a dozen fires have been intentionally set in Lincoln, Pulaski, Jessamine, Madison and Fayette Counties over almost two months.

In the report, Swope was quoted to say, “The fires that are occuring here in Lexington; they’re occuring in residential areas, populated areas, so we have a real concern with that. There were a couple fires down in southeastern Kentucky,  The Lincoln County-Pulaski area that caused damage well in excess of a million and a half dollars. We don’t know what the motivation is and that is a concern for us.”

Swope is pleading for the public’s help by stating that those responsible for setting these fires needs to be caught before something tragic happens.
