Louisiana Firefighter Dies After Falling Ill at Fire Station

To date, 13 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2018.

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Firefighter Operator Allen Headley, 31, of Plaquemines Parish Fire District No.2 on March 16, 2018.

While on-duty at the fire station, Firefighter-Operator Allen Headley was found unresponsive in the fire station day room. Firefighter-Operator Headly was treated by fellow responders and transported to the hospital but succumbed to a nature and cause of fatal injury still to be determined.

Fatality status is provisional and may change as USFA contacts State Fire Marshals to verify fatality incident information.
