Life Safety Leaders Form Business Partnership

Status Solutions and Koorsen Fire & Security have established a sales partnership to make SARA (Situational Awareness and Response Assistant) emergency alert systems more widely available to small- and medium-sized businesses in addition to enterprises served by Koorsen. SARA’s applications include life safety assurance, security monitoring, environmental awareness and mass notification.  
 
SARA is an automated alerting engine that integrates disparate life safety, security monitoring and environmental controls, turning alarms intomanaged voice and text alerts for delivery to designated communication devices, including cell phones, landlines, pagers, computer screens, PA systems, etc. With the situational awareness SARA provides, action can be taken to protect people, property and business operations. SARA includes a wireless sensor network, integration tools for existing alarm and communication systems, and mass notification in one powerful platform. SARA mitigates risk by ensuringthat the right people get the right information at the right time on the right devices for faster, more efficient emergency response.

SARA’s patent-pending Positioning System (SPS) uses vector-mapping technology to provide highly accurate location data that shows the proximity of a wireless duress device to a fixed device within the Inovonics EchoStream RF Infrastructure. Points of interest can be defined anywhere in or around a facility to provide multiple points of data to more quickly and easily findthose who need help. Applications include wireless pendants worn by residents in senior living communities, emergency pull stations in courthouse parkinggarages, and mobile panic buttons for lone workers or VIP guests at hotels and resorts.      
 
SARA’s eMessenger is an alerting capability that enhances the centralized management of alerts by extending the ability to communicate tothousands of PC screens throughout a hospital, university, manufacturing plant or office complex. Browser-based, pop-up alerts can contain information that is emergency or non-emergency related, including inclement weather announcements and meeting reminders with times and locations. Future versions of the software module will support both video and text alerts to PCs and mobile devices including tablets.
