MOTOROLA will design and install a new $36 million, 800-MHz ASTRO® digital trunked simulcast radio system and wireless data system for the state of Connecticut. The new systems include an 800-MHz SmartZoneTM simulcast trunked digital voice radio system and a 19.2-Kbps RD-LAP Motorola Private DataTACTM wireless data system. It replaces a communications setup originally designed and installed in the 1940s.
Motorola is also installing the ASTROTM SmartZoneTM digital radio communications system for Larimer County, Colorado. The five-site system will initially have some 600 radios and replace separate systems of Loveland Police and Fire Departments, the Poudre School District in Fort Collins, the Loveland Rural Fire Protection District, and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District.
