>> On October 1, DAVID G. KILBURY was sworn in as the chief of the City of Kissimmee (FL) Fire Department. Kilbury is a 28-year veteran of the Florida fire service, beginning his career with the South Trail Fire District in Fort Myers in 1985, where he worked for 2½ years before leaving for the City of Cape Coral. Chief Kilbury worked for the City of Cape Coral, rising trrough the organization to the rank of battalion chief before retiring in 2008.   DAVID G. KILBURY

>> TRACY KOSLOWSKI was named the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 2013 Fire and Life Safety Educator of the Year. Koslowski serves as the Drexel Heights Fire District (Tuscon, Arizona) public information officer, overseeing all of the district’s public education programs and representing it with the news media while performing fire marshal duties. She has pioneered innovative fire safety outreach programs to address all-terrain vehicle crashes, preteen and teenage fitness and fire preparedness, and child passenger safety among others. NFPA’s Fire and Life Safety Educator of the Year Award recognizes a fire and life safety educator who works for a local fire department, uses NFPA’s materials in consistent and creative ways, and views NFPA as the source for safety information. www.nfpa.org.
