JAN SELBERG, a second-grade teacher in Decorah, Iowa, has been named the first Learn Not to BurnT Teacher of the Year by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The award honors one teacher for excellence and innovation in using the NFPA`s Learn Not to Burn (LNTB) school-based education programs. As teacher of the year, Selberg will receive an expense-paid trip to attend Oklahoma State University`s Public Fire Education Conference in Oklahoma City, where she will present a workshop on effective use of LNTB.
