NFPA launches Risk Watch(TM) injury prevention curriculum

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has developed a comprehensive injury prevention curriculum. The Risk Watch(TM) curriculum, for preschool through eighth-grade levels, consists of five modules and covers the following areas, which pose the greatest unintentional injury risk to children: Vehicle Safety; Fire and Burn Prevention; Choking, Suffocation, and Strangulation Prevention; Poisoning Prevention; Falls Prevention; Firearms Injury Prevention; Bike and Pedestrian Safety; and Water Safety.

The program was cofunded by Lowe`s Home Safety Council. A panel of recognized experts representing various safety, consumer, and health organizations served as a technical advisory group.
